The windshield and side windows are laminated with an acoustic and heat-absorbing absorbing membrane that can also prove more break-resistant . The windshield and rear window are also infrared-reflecting helping to block outside noise and the sun's harsh rays. Additional sound insulation in key interior locations helps to further quiet the cabin.

Adding even more romance and magic to your arrival and departure, your GLS can project a virtual blanket of stars on the ground near the front doors when you open them. In addition to welcoming you in unmistakable style, the illumination can help you see puddles or uneven pavement as you approach your vehicle.

The Head-Up Display projects a 25 -inch-wide virtual image that appears to "float" some 13 feet in front of the windshield. The high-resolution readout places useful information in the driver's natural field of vision, with minimal "eyes off the road." The large, full-color graphical display can show the next navigation instruction, driving speed, cruise-control settings and more. Its height adjustment is stored in the seat memory, while the display adapts automatically to ambient light.

While the navigation system provides directional assistance, the driver must remain focused on safe driving behavior, including paying attention to traffic and street signs. Maps do not cover all areas or all routes within an area.

A built-in camera in the windshield can record activity occurring in front of the vehicle, potentially useful for documenting an accident or even recording a scenic journey. Video can include vehicle speed and time of day. Playback can be viewed on the car's multimedia display, or downloaded to a personal device via USB.

With the optional trailer hitch, you can tow up to 7,700 lbs. The hitch option includes the wiring harnesses for the trailer lights and brakes, while every GLS is already equipped to handle the rigors of towing on the engine, cooling system and transmission. It includes Trailer Stability Assist to help keep trailer sway under control.
