Accessibility statement
Our commitment to an accessible website, how this site is built, and how to reach us if something doesn't work for you.
At Miami Auto Co, we believe that every visitor deserves a seamless, comfortable, and fully inclusive online experience. Our commitment to accessibility is an ongoing priority, and we are actively working to ensure that our website is usable by all individuals, including those with disabilities.
We strive to follow the best practices set forth by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, aiming to meet Level AA standards. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with a wide range of abilities, including those who use assistive technologies.
Our commitment
We continually invest in improvements that promote accessibility across all areas of our website. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Clear navigation: We design our pages with consistent layouts, intuitive menus, and well-structured content to help users find information easily.
- Readable content: We use responsive typography, strong color contrast, and scalable text to ensure clear readability across all devices.
- Image descriptions: All meaningful images are paired with descriptive alternative text to support users who rely on screen readers.
- Keyboard accessibility: Every part of the site can be navigated without a mouse.
- Assistive technology compatibility: We work to maintain compatibility with common screen readers, voice recognition software, and other assistive tools.
- Form and input accessibility: We label form fields properly, use clear instructions, and ensure controls can be accessed and understood by all users. Every field on our forms has a label, errors are announced and linked to the field they belong to, each step can be completed with a keyboard, and if a form cannot load you are shown our phone number and email instead.
- Continuous testing: We regularly review our website's accessibility through both automated tools and manual testing to identify areas for improvement.
How this site is built (from the implementation)
- Every page is plain HTML that reads and works without JavaScript. The only script on a content page adds motion in browsers that support it and remembers your language choice.
- Text and background colors were chosen to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA contrast and measured in both light and dark mode. Brand orange is never used for small text; buttons use near-black text on orange at 7.4:1.
- Everything can be reached and operated with a keyboard, with a visible focus ring, and a "skip to content" link is the first thing on every page.
- Buttons and links are at least 44 pixels tall so they can be tapped accurately.
- If your device asks for reduced motion, every animation and transition is turned off.
- The site follows your device's light or dark setting.
- Pages use real headings and landmarks, images carry descriptions, and decorative icons are hidden from screen readers.
- Text can be enlarged to 200% without anything being cut off, and the layout works on screens as narrow as 320 pixels.
- English and Spanish are separate pages that each declare their language, so a screen reader uses the right voice, and the switch always goes to the same page in the other language.
- Fonts load with a system fallback so text appears immediately.
Ongoing improvement
Accessibility is not a one-time effort. It is a continuous process. As technology evolves and our website grows, Miami Auto Co remains committed to updating features, correcting issues, and improving the user experience for everyone.
We are also committed to providing training and resources for our team to better understand and support accessibility needs.
