Electrically heated outboard 2nd-row seats offer soothing warmth with individualized comfort. Three levels of warming automatically step down after several minutes, while automatic shutoff means the driver need not worry if the passengers forget to turn them off.

Automatic assist mechanisms quietly and graciously finish closing the doors for you or your passengers. Just bring the door to its latch, and the closing assist gently snugs it to its fully closed position.

Adding even more romance and magic to your arrival and departure, your GLE can project a virtual blanket of stars on the ground near the front doors when you open them. In addition to welcoming you in unmistakable style, the illumination can help you see puddles or uneven pavement as you approach your vehicle.

The Head-Up Display projects a 9.5-inch-wide virtual image that appears to "float" several feet in front of the windshield. The high-resolution readout places useful information in the driver's natural field of vision, with minimal "eyes off the road." The large, full-color graphical display can show the next navigation instruction, driving speed, cruise-control settings and more. Its height adjustment is stored in the seat memory, while the display adapts automatically to ambient light.

A built-in camera in the windshield can record activity occurring in front of the vehicle, potentially useful for documenting an accident or even recording a scenic journey. Video can include vehicle speed and time of day. Playback can be viewed on the car's multimedia display, or downloaded to a personal device via USB.

A personal Mercedes me ID, agreement to the Terms of Use for Mercedes-Benz Digital Extras, and pairing of the vehicle and user account are required to activate the feature in the vehicle. Upon expiration of the initial term, most features can be renewed for a fee, provided they are still offered for the vehicle.

With the optional trailer hitch, you can tow up to 7,700 lbs. The hitch option includes the wiring harnesses for the trailer lights and brakes, while every GLE is already equipped to handle the rigors of towing on the engine, cooling system and transmission. It includes Trailer Stability Assist to help keep trailer sway under control.
