Ventilated seats are a luxury you'll soon consider a necessity. Three levels of heating and cooling ventilation are offered. By gently circulating air through perforations in the seat and backrest, ventilated seats can help keep you cooler and your clothes drier during warmer months. Reversible fans can help draw heat away for brief periods. On cold or damp days, using both the ventilation and heating together can circulate the seat heating more quickly, to help keep you warm and dry.

Electrically heated outboard rear seats offer soothing warmth with individualized comfort. Three levels of warming automatically step down after several minutes, while automatic shutoff means the driver need not worry if the passengers forget to turn them off.

Heating elements within the steering wheel rim rapidly take the chill out of your hands on a cold morning. After a few minutes, the heating level is automatically reduced to maintain lasting comfort.

Using GPS technology and a fast hard drive to store maps and points of interest, this virtual copilot provides detailed driving directions with remarkable speed and a friendly voice. The in-dash displays can show 3D maps with building profiles. Operation is made easy by a choice of four input methods, including your natural voice, so finding a Point of Interest can be as easy as saying "Hey, Mercedes, I'm hungry."

• While the navigation system provides directional assistance, the driver must remain focused on safe driving behavior, including paying attention to traffic and street signs. Maps do not cover all areas or all routes within an area, may require periodic updating, and may not reflect recent or temporary changes to roadways.

A total of six USB-C ports are provided, all with fast-charging capability up to 100W. Two ports at the front of the console and two more under the armrest are also suitable for data transfer with the vehicle. Two ports are included in the rear center armrest as well. An additional 12V power outlet is provided for the rear cabin.

With the optional trailer hitch, the GLC can tow up to 3,500 lbs. The hitch option includes the wiring harnesses for the trailer lights and brakes, while every GLC is already equipped to handle the rigors of towing on the engine, cooling system and transmission. It includes Trailer Stability Assist to help keep trailer sway under control.

A camera in the windshield can record activity occurring in front of the vehicle, and let you save it for playback using your own compatible USB flash drive. Potentially useful for documenting an accident or other event, the 1,280x720-pixel video with a 30-Hz frame rate can also include vehicle speed and the time of day. Playback can be viewed on the car's multimedia display or on your own computer via your USB flash drive.
