The electrically operated doors can be activated from a variety of interior and exterior controls, from a touch of a door handle to the in-car touchscreen. Electric heating of the windshield glass allows it to begin clearing frost and fog as soon as you start the vehicle, even on the coldest day.

For an extraordinarily personalized degree of cabin comfort, 5-zone climate control offers individual left and right comfort zones in both the first and second rows, plus a fifth zone for the third row that includes vents behind the side door windows. A triple-stage filtration system takes advantage of the large area under the front hood. Large particles are screened before incoming air reaches a certified HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter than can remove more than 99% of particulate pollution, comparable to an operating room. As a final step, activated charcoal filtration helps remove ultrafine particles, smog and odors from the cabin air. The system has earned European certification for bacteria and virus protection.

To help make riding in the EQS SUV even more serene, the windshield and the side and rear windows are all laminated with an acoustic membrane. The glass is also infrared-reflecting, so it can help block outside noise as well as the sun's harsh rays.

Two 11.6-inch touchscreens offer first-rate entertainment to the second row. Each screen displays individual content that the user can stream from their phone, tablet or laptop. For private listening, each screen can be paired with the available rear-cabin wireless headsets, or your own Bluetooth® headphones.

Two wireless headsets are fully compatible with the MBUX High-End Rear Seat Entertainment system. They stow conveniently in the door pockets, and can be charged via the cabin's USB-C ports.

For enhanced agility, stability and maneuverability, electromechanical actuators can steer the rear wheels up to 10 degrees based on driving speed and dynamics. Above 37 mph, the rear wheels can steer up to 3 degrees in either direction, to boost rear-wheel grip, cornering response, and control in evasive moves. At lower speeds and when parking, steering up to 10 degrees opposite the front wheels can cut the turning circle by some 36 inches, for compact-car maneuverability in a large and spacious SUV.

• System cannot overcome the laws of physics, nor is it a substitute for being attentive to driving, traffic and conditions. Please always wear your seat belt. Performance is limited by available traction, which snow, ice and other conditions can affect. Always drive carefully, consistent with conditions. With the optional trailer hitch, an EQS SUV can tow up to 3,500 lbs. The hitch option includes the wiring harnesses for the trailer lights and brakes, as well as Trailer Stability Assist to help keep trailer sway under control.
